NEW DELHI: Indian divers Siddharth Bajrang Pardeshi and London Singh Hemam faced disappointment as they failed to secure a spot in the final of the men's 3m springboard event at the Asian Games. The duo finished in the 16th and 17th positions during the preliminary stage of the competition, leaving them out of contention for the final.Siddharth ended his preliminary performance in the 17th position, accumulating a total of 236.35 points.
Meanwhile, London secured the last spot in the rankings with a point total of 207.A total of 12 divers successfully qualified for the final round, with China's Zongyuan Wang leading the preliminary stage with an impressive score of 494.05.
Jaegyeong Yi from Korea secured the second position with 425.30 points, while another Chinese diver, Jiuyuan Zheng, claimed the third spot with a score of 420.65.In a disappointing turn of events, London Singh Hemam had previously finished 12th in the men's 1m springboard diving event, earning a total of 207.80 points.While London Singh Hemam's campaign at the Asian Games has concluded, Siddharth Bajrang Pardeshi will have another opportunity to make his mark in the men's 10m platform event, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, marking the final day of the diving competition in this prestigious continental event.(With PTI inputs)
